NIAGARA POWER PROJECT – POWER VISTA

The Power Vista, as it is known, is located 41⁄2 miles downstream from the Falls, set amidst the spectacular scenery of the Niagara River Gorge. It features more than 50 interactive exhibits that invite visitors of all ages to have a completely hands-on experience as they learn about hydroelectricity and the historic role it has played in the Niagara Frontier.

FREEDOM CROSSING AT CASTELLANI ART MUSEUM
Freedom Crossing depicts the people, places, and events of the Underground Railroad Movement in the Buffalo Niagara region through historic photographs, artifacts, and real life stories.

HISTORIC LEWISTON
Not just a quaint village with shops and restaurants and a lovely park overlooking the river, Lewiston is loaded with history. 12,000 years ago, the falls were located at Lewiston and over the millennia have erode back to their present position leaving the Niagara Gorge. More recently, Lewiston is where French explorers traded with American Indians and opened the Great Lakes to trade, the U.S. launched it’s invasion of Canada starting the war of 1812, and where people broke the law to help fugitive slaves cross into Canada as part of the underground railroad.

Since 1954, Our Lady of Fatima Shrine has become a place of natural beauty, art, communal prayer, and renewal to thousands who visit the unique buildings and grounds each year. The magnificence and natural beauty of the Shrine is highlighted by an awe-inspiring Dome Basilica covered with two layers of glass and Plexiglas, with a contour of the Northern Hemisphere of the globe.
